Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne by Jo Malone, For cologne wearers looking for something with a bit more citrus to wear, Jo Malone lime basil & mandarin is a fantastic fragrance to have. It was released in 1999. Bergamot, mandarin orange, and lime are the notes found at the top. Thyme, iris, lilac, and basil are in the middle. Vetiver and patchouli make up the base. Jo Malone, the woman who founded the brand house, began her career as a beautician and florist. She began making headway into the fragrance industry when she would send her clients home with a special bath oil package, and everyone told her to start selling this item on its own. In 1994, she started her own company in London, and it sold fragrances, candles and skincare items. The store steadily gained popularity, and in 1999, it opened its flagship store on Sloane Street. Malone remained with her company as a chairwoman until 2006, but in 2011, she made a triumphant return to the perfumery industry by starting jo loves. Although the company has collaborated with many perfumes over the years, Malone herself is responsible for creating lime basil & mandarin. Malone has had an incredibly successful career, and she has even won an MBE for her work.
